Asking ChatGPT or Gemini a complex question and getting a clear, logical answer is impressive, but what Topaz Labs has achieved with its latest AI tool is on another level. This company, known for developing artificial intelligence to enhance images, increase resolution, and expand visuals beyond their original limits, has introduced a groundbreaking innovation. Its name is Project Starlight, and we now have a glimpse of what it can do.

Please follow us on Facebook and Twitter.

Unlike most of Topaz Labs’ previous tools, Starlight moves away from static images and focuses on video. Its goal is to enhance the resolution, colors, and motion of old, low-quality videos. While AI technology has attempted similar improvements before, the early results from this project are already leaving many people in awe.

One of the leading AI experts on X (Twitter) recently shared a sample showcasing Starlight’s capabilities. The tool delivered astonishing results in restoring extremely low-resolution video clips recorded decades ago. And since a picture is worth a thousand words, you can see the results for yourself.

Project Starlight: The Most Advanced Video Enhancement AI Today

The first demonstration of Project Starlight is truly spectacular. It not only enhances resolution but also perfectly replicates colors, recreates every detail with remarkable accuracy, and adds stunning textures to all materials. In fact, the tool is so advanced that it can generate tiny details like sweat on an astronaut’s forehead or subtle reflections on a helmet’s protective glass.

Each scene is astonishing, as the AI transforms blurry, out-of-focus footage into a sharp, high-resolution video that meets modern standards. Object edges become well-defined, materials are accurately recognized, and almost every detail is successfully restored, with little to no noticeable flaws in the recreation process.

An example of this impressive capability is the launch tower. In the original video, its top is barely visible, but in the enhanced version, it appears with a natural and highly detailed look.

For those interested in Project Starlight, Topaz Labs has announced a semi-open beta phase for selected users. While details such as pricing, the length of videos it can enhance, and its performance with different types of footage are still unknown, it has already positioned itself as one of the most exciting AI-powered video enhancement tools available today.
