After announcing new artificial intelligence features for YouTube, Google today launched a new feature called “Ask Music” within YouTube Music. It functions like a dedicated version of the Gemini Assistant but creates playlists based on user preferences, all with the “magic” of YouTube.
Please follow us on Facebook and Twitter.
The feature has been gradually rolling out to YouTube Music users on Android and iOS since July, with a broader rollout starting today. Users who already have access will see a card on the app’s home page that allows them to use Ask Music.
The new feature displays a chat interface with playlist suggestions, a box to request specific songs or genres, and a “play” button to submit your request. There is also an option to specify the type of playlist you want.
The resulting playlist is dynamic, meaning it considers your music preferences on YouTube Music and can be added to your library with a single tap.
The only restriction is that Ask Music is available only to YouTube Music Premium and YouTube Premium subscribers. However, you do not need to be a Gemini Advanced subscriber, which is a plus.
