Logitech positions its G435 headphones as lightweight and more suitable for smaller users’ heads, but the headphones aren’t that small. Yes, I had to open them up as much as possible, although usually I adjust other headphones (leaving a little on the side) to about halfway.

Technical Specification

Design and Built Quality

The build of the Logitech G435 headphones is very plastic, but not in a bad way. The manufacturer emphasizes that the packaging and even parts of the headphones are made from recycled and recyclable materials. I must say that the quality of the material selection is borderline when considering the price, but the headphones are lightweight and comfortable, at least for my head. You can also wear the Logitech G435 headphones without worries if you wear glasses daily or while using the computer.

We received the blue-pink-purple version of the Logitech G435 headphones, which I think suits this type of headset very well. Additionally, these colors help hide dust and small dirt particles, something that black headphones often struggle with. It’s also pretty cool that with each color of the Logitech G435 headphones, you get a matching-colored Lightspeed USB dongle. It’s a small thing, but a nice touch.

The soft ear cushions of the headphones seem to be made of slightly rough fabric, but you don’t feel it on your head. Moreover, this fabric seems very durable and doesn’t make your head sweat. Inside the headphones, there is no soft material covering the speakers, likely to reduce the cost of the Logitech G435 headphones. It’s not a major issue, but it certainly doesn’t create a premium feel, which isn’t the purpose of the Logitech G435 headphones anyway.

The controls of the Logitech G435 headphones are handled by four buttons: power, volume control, and Bluetooth pairing. The headphones are charged with a USB Type-C cable, but the USB cable cannot be used to listen to music or play games; it only charges the headphones. However, you can use the headphones while they are charging.

Logitech promises up to 18 hours of battery life on a single charge, which might be close to the truth. There are no lights or active noise cancellation that could drain the battery faster.

Overall, I would say that the Logitech G435 headphones feel a bit cheap in hand, but because of that, they are incredibly light and surprisingly comfortable. They don’t press on the jaw, don’t bother glasses wearers, and the headphones could even be described as unnoticeable on the head. The material of the soft ear cushions doesn’t cause sweating, although in summer heat, these headphones might behave differently. Before the review, I was expecting the worst, but the Logitech G435 headphones proved themselves to be quite good.

However, it should be noted that the Logitech G435 headphones do not come with any software. The “G” in the headphones’ name might make someone think of using Logitech G Hub (myself included), but Logitech does not offer any software for these headphones, and they likely cannot even receive firmware updates.

Microphone

The microphone of the Logitech G435 headphones is built directly into the headset and cannot be positioned closer to the mouth, which can lead to, and most likely does lead to, poorer microphone performance. It’s also worth mentioning that a microphone positioned this way is more likely to pick up background noise.

Below is a sample recording from the microphone. Honestly, I wasn’t expecting it to sound even half as good as it does. In fact, I have to say that the microphone could be used in games and for Teams/Skype calls without much embarrassment.

Sound Quality

The sound quality is one of the biggest positive surprises of the Logitech G435 headphones. They even have bass, which is usually lacking in cheaper wireless headphones. The bass is quite precise, and the mids sound good, though the highs could be a bit clearer. Typically, gaming headsets of this type aren’t great for music, but with the Logitech G435 headphones, you can confidently connect them to your smartphone via Bluetooth and enjoy some music.

If I had to nitpick, the Logitech G435 headphones could have better passive noise isolation, and they have a 45-ohm impedance, which in some scenarios might make the sound too quiet. Paired with Windows 10, the Logitech G435 headphones sounded nice at around 70% volume, which is already very, very loud. I usually use 32-ohm headphones at 35% volume, maybe closer to 50% for gaming, but 70% would be unbearable.

Overall, I would say that the Logitech G435 headphones sound better and bassier than some gaming headsets that cost two or three times as much.

Conclusion

The Logitech G435 headphones were a big surprise for me because, in my eyes, they significantly outperformed even more expensive models from the same manufacturer. Buyers get stylish colors, a comfortable yet simple design—nothing is overdone. The headphones are lightweight and almost unnoticeable on the head.

Of course, one might wish for some additional nice features, like I wasn’t expecting the Logitech G435 headphones to lack support for Logitech G Hub. This means you don’t get a manufacturer-provided digital equalizer with the Logitech G435 headphones. In some scenarios, the Logitech G435 headphones might be slightly too quiet, but I strongly doubt that will be a major issue.

I would call the Logitech G435 headphones the best gaming headset I’ve heard and tested in the past year. I really liked them! Superb!
