Data from Consumer Intelligence Research Partners (CIRP) shows that the Watch Series 9 is Apple’s current best-selling smartwatch. It accounted for 43% of the brand’s smartwatch sales in the United States during the quarter ending in June 2024. Here is the share of each model:
The Watch Series 8 continues to be a sales success, especially among users looking for a watch fully integrated with their iPhone. Although it is no longer officially sold through the Apple Store, the previous generation model is still available in retail stores in the United States and made up 19% of sales.
Third place was a close race between the Watch SE and Watch Ultra 2, which are Apple’s least expensive and most expensive smartwatches, respectively. However, the base model, which costs more than three times less than the top-of-the-line model in the US, seems to have a slight edge in sales performance.
According to CIRP data, the 1st generation Apple Watch Ultra accounted for 9% of sales. This model has become a better value option due to its advanced features and more attractive price compared to the Watch Ultra 2. Finally, the Apple Watch Nike, which is a variant of the Series 8 and Series 9, accounted for only 5% of sales.
Apple is expected to launch the Watch Series 10 in September 2024, alongside the iPhone 16. The new smartwatch is anticipated to feature a slimmer design and larger screens, but rumors suggest there will be few changes to its health features.
