As fans anticipate the release of the first expansion for Diablo 4, Vessel of Hatred, they can enjoy the updates in Season 5, which include various quality-of-life improvements that the community appreciates. However, one group of players is currently very frustrated, finding the ARPG less enjoyable due to these ongoing co-op issues.
Diablo 4 Couch Co-Op Nearly Unplayable Due to Attack Speed Bug
If you buy Diablo 4 on console and play in couch co-op, you’ll currently have to deal with numerous bugs. Most notably, the attack speed doesn’t scale correctly. There are also issues with character animations, lag during movement, and a lack of controller vibrations. All of these problems are causing frustration within the community, as highlighted in a Reddit post by user thebestthingsinlife2:
Almost every build has been broken in couch co-op since launch, Blizzard have never responded

The player also criticized the developers for not addressing the issue sooner. However, Community Director Adam Fletcher quickly responded, assuring that they are actively working on a solution to the couch co-op problems. Fletcher explained that while Blizzard cannot reply to every single player report, they are closely monitoring bug reports:
No reply on the forums doesn’t necessarily justify lack of acknowledgement. As much as I’d like to reply to everyone here or the forums, I unfortunately can’t. Nor can the full CM team. But forums do help us track volume.
Sometimes the volume helps on one specific issue for us to understand the severity and impact and that volume can lead to that momentum to understand impact.
Just because there isn’t a blue post about a bug doesn’t mean Blizzard isn’t investigating it. The developers haven’t announced an exact timeline for a hotfix, but it should be included in one of the next two client patches. We’ll keep you informed as soon as more details become available.
