Samsung began rolling out the August 2024 security patch update for Galaxy M55 users on Tuesday (06). This is the first phone from the brand to receive this patch, which also includes performance improvements and fixes for issues identified in the previous version.

The new firmware version is identified as “M556BXXU3AXG7.” The update has started to be released in several regions, so it is expected to take some time before it becomes available to all users of the mid-range phone.
According to Samsung’s release notes, the update enhances the “device performance” without detailing the specific fixes, but users can expect fewer app and service crashes.

The August 2024 security patch addresses 50 security vulnerabilities found in Samsung devices. Of these, 35 fixes were made by Google — one of which is classified as “Critical.” The remaining fixes were made by the South Korean manufacturer itself, including solutions for vulnerabilities found in Knox.
