OpenAI now has an alternative to Google’s search engine. The company has presented SearchGPT, a new AI-powered search engine that can return results and display them in conversational mode, similar to ChatGPT. OpenAI has confirmed that this search engine will be integrated into the popular chatbot in the future. Currently, however, it is a product in the development phase, but there is a way to try it out as soon as possible.

The artificial intelligence company has revealed that it will offer early access to SearchGPT to a small number of users to test and provide feedback on the AI model it uses. While OpenAI has not provided further details, it appears that users will be chosen at random, although one essential step is required: signing up for the waiting list.
Not only will this list make you one of the lucky few who can try out SearchGPT before anyone else, but it will also give you priority access to the search engine once it is officially available or in the upcoming testing phases.
Follow These Steps to Join the SearchGPT Waiting List
To join the SearchGPT waiting list follow these steps:
- Go to the SearchGPT website.
- Log in with your OpenAI account (create one if needed by following the on-screen instructions).
- Click the ‘Join the waiting list’ button.
- You will be automatically added to the waiting list.
- Wait for OpenAI to send you a message with instructions on how to try SearchGPT.
At the moment, however, the launch date of SearchGPT is unknown, so it is not clear when this new service will be available for early testing.
In any case, OpenAI says that SearchGPT will offer new search capabilities designed to combine the power of its AI models with information from the web “to provide fast, timely answers with clear, relevant sources.” In fact, this is something that other models, such as Gemini, already do, so SearchGPT will allow OpenAI to match Google in this field.
