However, the company remains strong in the wearables market, introducing new headphones, watches, and bracelets each year. Recent information suggests that Huawei might update a product line that hasn’t seen any updates since 2021, potentially releasing a new Watch D model this July.

The information comes from the source @UncleKanshan on the Chinese social network Weibo. According to this source, Huawei is planning to launch some products at an event in July. However, these products are not the ones previously speculated. Instead of unveiling new Sound X4, Joy 2, and BE 7 speakers, the company is expected to focus on its new Watch D2, which is internally codenamed LUCA and is rumored to be named “Second Generation Blood Pressure Monitor.”
There is currently no information available about the Huawei Watch D2, including details about its appearance, technical specifications, or price. As the supposed launch event approaches, it is likely that Huawei will begin to share teasers on its social media, giving a clearer picture of what to expect.
Key Features and Expected Updates
The first Watch D was introduced by Huawei in December 2021, during the same event where the P50 Pocket foldable phone was revealed. The smartwatch featured a 1.64-inch AMOLED rectangular display with a resolution of 456 x 280 pixels and a battery life of up to 10 days. Its major highlights at the time were blood pressure monitoring and electrocardiogram (ECG) capabilities.
Given the alleged Chinese name for the Watch D2, it is highly likely that it will retain blood pressure monitoring as one of its key features, focusing on user health. Other expected features include IP68 certification for water and dust resistance, heart rate and blood oxygenation (SpO2) monitoring, sleep tracking, and general physical activity tracking.
The Huawei Watch D was launched in China for approximately $475. If the price remains at 2,988 yuan, it would be around $410 at the current exchange rate, excluding taxes. The timeline for an international release is uncertain but is expected to follow a few weeks after the Chinese event.
