The complete technical specifications for Google’s upcoming smartphone, Pixel 8a, have been released online. User @Mysterylupin has shared a datasheet on X (Twitter), confirming previous leaks and addressing lingering questions.
Regarding its features, the Pixel 8a is expected to sport a 6.1-inch OLED display, referred to by Google as the “Actua Display,” akin to the Pixel 8. Similar to its predecessor, the display is anticipated to boast a resolution of 2,400 x 1,080 pixels, with a maximum average brightness of 1,400 cd/m² (2,000 cd/m² peak) and a refresh rate of 120 Hz.

As per the datasheet, Google’s SoC Tensor G3 will power the smartphone, consistent with other Pixel 8 models. The device is rumored to come with 8 GB of RAM and either 128 GB or 256 GB of flash memory, aligning with the specifications of the Pixel 8. Connectivity options include 5G (mmWave and sub-6 GHz), Wi-Fi 6E, and Bluetooth 5.3. Additionally, users will have the choice to utilize both physical SIM card and eSIM functionalities.
The Camera Seems to Be Exactly the Same as the One in the Pixel 7a
It’s reported that the Pixel 8a will feature a dual camera setup on its rear, differing from the Pixel 8. The main camera is expected to house 64 megapixels (with an aperture of f/1.89 and a sensor size of 1/1.73 inch), accompanied by a 13-megapixel super wide-angle camera (with an aperture of f/2.2). These camera specifications align with those of the Pixel 7a. Additionally, the front camera is anticipated to have a resolution of 13 megapixels. The Pixel 8a is rumored to support features like “Magic Touch-Up” and “Magic Eraser,” with the inclusion of a Magic Audio Eraser for video recordings.

The Pixel 8a is set to be available in several colors, including black, white, green, blue, and light blue. Its display is expected to be shielded by Gorilla Glass 3, while the smartphone’s rear is rumored to be crafted from plastic. Previous leaks suggest that the Pixel 8a will be priced at either $499 or $599, depending on the chosen storage variant.
