PlayStation is rolling out an update for the PS5 to alter how multiplayer parties function on the console. The update introduces a method to invite others using shareable links. These links, in the form of QR codes, can be shared on social media or messaging apps like WhatsApp.

Sony has been striving to enhance player communication on the PS5 since its launch, including integrating with Discord. This week, another enhancement arrived: shareable party links in QR Code format.

This new feature complements existing ways to join a PS5 game session and is consistent across all supported games. Additionally, it supports a Discord widget, displaying the game being played and the group’s activity status.

In the near future, players can also share PSN profiles via the PlayStation app on messaging platforms. This feature is expected to roll out in the coming months.

These updates are part of our ongoing efforts to simplify online player connections and multiplayer experiences. We remain dedicated to innovation in this area and value your feedback. Let us know your thoughts!
