Threads recently reached 150 million monthly users. But Meta’s social network wants more. They’re launching a bonus program to keep users engaged. This plan, confirmed to TechCrunch, targets content creators. It might make Threads more attractive to influencers and help it grow faster.

Invitation-Only Program to Reward Creators

Lately, many Threads accounts are talking about a secret bonus program. Meta has revealed details about it. It started testing in March. Right now, only selected American creators can join. But if it works well, Meta might open it to other places.

Also, how creators get bonuses changes. They look at things like how many posts a creator makes and how many views they get. To get a bonus, a post needs at least 2,500 views, and these views can’t be fake. The post must also be original, without any watermarks from other sites like TikTok or YouTube, and can’t be part of a deal with a brand.

Meta wants to make sure that the posts getting bonuses are good quality. They won’t allow sponsored posts or copyrighted stuff. So, creators must follow Instagram’s bonus rules and the program’s terms.

Creators need to earn a certain amount to get paid. They can check this on their dashboard. If they don’t earn enough, they won’t get paid. But they might get invited to another bonus event later. This should motivate creators to work hard and grow their audience on Threads.

A Golden Opportunity for Creators and For Threads

The bonus program is great for creators who want more money. It’s also a big help for Threads’ growth. By offering rewards to influencers, the social network hopes to get more good content. This means more people will use the platform and spend more time on it.

This strategy worked well on other apps like TikTok and Snapchat. Their programs for paying creators helped those apps become really popular. We’ll have to wait and see if Threads can do the same and become the top choice for influencers.
