How to Access MSI Boot Menu?
Method 1: F11 Key
Follow the steps below:
- Power on your computer by pressing the power button or restart it if it’s already turned on.
- Click on the “Restart” button to initiate the restart process.
- As the computer starts up, immediately press and hold the F11 key.
- Continue holding the F11 key until the MSI boot menu appears on the screen.
- Once the boot menu is displayed, release the F11 key.
- Use the arrow keys on your keyboard to navigate through the boot menu.
- Select the desired boot device from the options listed.
- Press Enter to confirm your selection and boot from the chosen device.
Method 2: BIOS
Follow the steps below:
- Power on your computer by pressing the power button or restart it if it’s already turned on.
- Click on the “Restart” button to initiate the restart process.
- As the computer boots up or restarts, continuously press the “Delete” key on your keyboard.
- Keep pressing the “Delete” key until you see the computer restarting and the BIOS menu appears.
- In the BIOS menu, navigate to the Boot section.
- Within the Boot section, locate the Boot mode option.
- Select “LEGACY+UEFI & UEFI” from the available options.
- Next, find the Boot Option#1 setting.
- Select “UEFI HARD DISK” or “HARD DISK” depending on your preference.
- Finally, locate the UEFI Hard disk Driver BBS Priority or Hard disk driver BBS Priority option.
- Set Boot Option#1 to designate the chosen boot device.
- Save your changes and exit the BIOS menu.

How to Fix “Cannot Access MSI Boot Menu”
Its easier to access the MSI Boot Menu & BIOS with the steps mentioned above however if for some reasons you cannot access the MSI Boot Menu following are the three methods to help you access it:
Method 1: Using PS/2 Keyboard
Follow the steps below:
- If the MSI boot menu key (F11) and MSI BIOS key (Del) are not working due to an issue with USB keyboards, consider using a PS/2 keyboard instead.
- Disconnect the current USB keyboard from your MSI motherboard.
- Locate a PS/2 keyboard and connect it to the appropriate PS/2 port on your motherboard.
- Ensure the PS/2 keyboard is securely connected.
- Restart your computer.
- As the computer restarts, try pressing the MSI boot menu key (F11) or MSI BIOS key (Del) to access the respective menus.
- If the PS/2 keyboard allows you to access the menus successfully, you’ve resolved the issue.
Method 2: UEFI Firmware Settings
Follow the steps below:
- Turn on your computer.
- Allow it to boot up completely.
- Power off your computer by pressing and holding the power button until it shuts down. Repeat this step two more times.
- On the third boot attempt, your computer will enter Windows Recovery Environment automatically.
- In the Windows Recovery Environment, select “Troubleshoot” from the options.
- Next, choose “Advanced Options.”
- Within Advanced Options, select “UEFI Firmware Settings.”
- Your computer will restart and enter the BIOS (UEFI) settings.
- Once in the BIOS, you can modify the UEFI settings as needed.
- To exit the BIOS and return to Windows, click on “Restart” within the BIOS interface.
Method 3: Turning of Fast Startup
Follow the steps below:
- Open the Control Panel on your computer.
- Navigate to the “System and Security” section.
- Within “System and Security,” click on “Power Options.”
- In the Power Options window, locate and click on “Choose what the power buttons do” on the left-hand side.
- You may encounter a window titled “System Settings.” If so, click on the “Change settings that are currently unavailable” link.
- Scroll down to find the “Shutdown settings” section.
- Uncheck the box next to “Turn on fast startup.”
- After unchecking the box, click on the “Save changes” button at the bottom of the window.
- Close the Control Panel window.
- The changes you’ve made will take effect immediately.
