Improved Support for Nvidia RTX 40 GPUs

Meta Quest Link now offers enhanced compatibility with Nvidia GeForce RTX 40 series graphics cards. Users with these GPUs can expect smoother performance and better visuals when connecting their headsets to gaming PCs.

Battery Efficiency Improvement

One of the notable improvements in this update is the enhanced battery efficiency of Quest Link. Users connecting wirelessly to a PC via Air Link, especially with the Quest 3, will experience longer playtime, with an increase from 90 to 140 minutes.

Expanded Graphics Card Support

Meta Quest Link now officially supports all RTX 40 series graphics cards, from the RTX 4090 to the RTX 4050. Although using certain models may trigger compatibility warnings, Meta assures users it is safe to ignore them for now.

Higher Refresh Rate

Quest 3 users can now enjoy a higher refresh rate of 120Hz via Quest Link. While this feature requires manual activation in the device settings, it promises a smoother and more immersive VR experience.

Name Change from Oculus to Meta

In a significant rebranding move, Oculus has officially changed its name to Meta. Despite the nostalgia for the Oculus brand, Meta aims to continue the legacy of providing cutting-edge VR technology.

Aside from the major updates, Meta Quest Link also includes minor improvements such as changes to privacy controls and automatic connect features. For more details, readers can refer to Meta’s official blog post.
