After the CEO of HMD Global revealed that the company is set to start selling phones under its own brand, the HMD Phone 1 has now been located in the GSMA’s IMEI database.
The device is expected to be launched in two variants, with the model numbers being N159V and TA-1585, respectively. Although the technical specifications are not revealed at this initial stage, the regulatory agency confirms at least the presence of 4G connectivity.
Additionally, they are also expected to feature Bluetooth 5.2 and dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4 and 5 GHz).
While the company has not yet commented on the matter, individuals with access to HMD’s plans say that these company-branded devices are likely to be initially sold in India.
This is because the company aims to compete with Chinese companies in a market that still has significant growth potential. Furthermore, the company is expected to continue releasing devices under the Nokia brand.
Finally, further details about the HMD Phone 1 are expected to be revealed over the coming weeks.
