Indications suggest that Nubia is planning to launch a more affordable version within its most powerful line of smartphones. This is because the Nubia Z50 SE model was found in the database of the China Compulsory Certification (3C) agency.
According to preliminary data from 3C, the device bears the designation NX715J, features native 5G connectivity, and also supports fast 80W wired charging. “The smartphone also boasts Bluetooth 5.3, dual-band Wi-Fi, and NFC for contactless payments.”
The preliminary listing can already be viewed on the official 3C page. As expected, 3C typically does not release the complete specifications of certified smartphones at this early stage. Nonetheless, sources with access to the Chinese manufacturer’s plans state that the Nubia Z50 SE will be a more affordable smartphone compared to the standard Z50.
As such, it may retain the 6.67-inch AMOLED screen but reduce the refresh rate from 144 Hz to around 120 Hz. The chipset is still undecided, but it’s worth noting that the standard Z50 uses the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and is sold with up to 16 GB of RAM.
In the camera department, the Nubia Z50 SE may keep the 64 MP main sensor and the ultrawide lens, but with some sensor swapping. Finally, the battery is expected to remain around 5,000 mAh, and the operating system will be Android 13.
As of now, there is still no release date scheduled for the Nubia Z50 SE.
