Whatsapp Will Allow the Use of Two Different Accounts on The Same Phone

If you have two different WhatsApp accounts, you will soon be able to access both from the same device. This news was announced by Meta’s CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, on Thursday October 19th.

According to him, this feature will be gradually rolled out in the coming weeks to all Android users, and it will allow you to access a second account without the need for an extra device or logging out of your current account.

With this new feature, WhatsApp will enable the user to easily manage their conversations on multiple devices. For example, for people who have one account for work and another for friends and family.

WhatsApp Dual Account Access

However, Meta notes that the user will still need a separate number or SIM card for the second account. It’s also worth mentioning that you will still need a second phone or SIM card to receive the access key that WhatsApp will send via SMS to allow the second account to be accessed on a different device.

After the initial verification, the app will allow the user to use both accounts without the need for the second device or SIM card, according to WhatsApp spokesperson Ellie Heatrick.

Over the years, Meta has introduced features to allow users to use their WhatsApp account on different devices. In 2021, they allowed access through tablets, browsers, and computers. More recently, they also included an additional mobile phone, removing the restriction of using your account on only one device.
