“TikTok” now allows tagging of artificial intelligence-generated content

Video-sharing service “TikTok” has announced the introduction of a set of tools that enable users to tag posts created or enhanced by artificial intelligence (AI). The company is taking this step after adding several video filters that extensively use AI and launching an image generator to help create unique backgrounds.

The new tags are not exclusive to filters offered by “TikTok” that utilize AI. Users can tag any post that has been entirely generated by AI or significantly improved by AI, regardless of the source of the content.

At the same time, the company emphasizes that the new post-tagging tools are not mandatory. “TikTok’s” usage policy clearly states that any AI-generated post resembling a “realistic image, audio, or video” must be tagged to prevent the spread of misleading content. To distinguish such content, users can also use other solutions like digital labels or descriptions that clearly indicate AI involvement in content creation.

However, considering that inaccuracies and errors can occur from time to time, “TikTok” is developing its own tools to automatically tag AI-generated posts. However, it is not currently known when these tools will be launched.
